My birthday- I turn 26 and I am so happy

 Happy Birthday to Subarna

The peach dress is very special for me. I brought it last pujo with my own money that I had made from Writersbay. It is a very special kurti for me. I wear it a lot because it means a lot to me. But, after much wear and tear, it will soon get worn out. So, I wanted to commemorate this kurti by wearing it especially on my birthday. Baba told me to get a new dress for birthday but I flatly refused. And, in the month of June, I had three kurtis and skirts tailor made for me to wear at home anyway It gives me real pleasure to find the best fabric of my choice then get it custom made for just my body. It costs more than readymade but lasts longer and feels amazing.

Baba brought the three books: Srimad Bhagvatam (Parts 1 and 2) and Upanishads for me from Patna from the Gita Press stall inside the Patna Junction complex. Gita Press is the most authentic though succinct it is in many ways. I love them all and read them with greater concentration than I have ever read any textbook. I wish they still taught Hindu philosophy in schools, India would be a very peaceful country then.

And, the other gift was Cadbury dairy  milk, my favorite. Baba had also brought dairy milk for me a few days back so I had two dairy milks on my birthday. I gave one to Baba and ate another. Having the house decorated with balloons makes me feel like it is really my birthday.

And, Baba brought pastries of my favorite flavours too. One was pink with strawberry and another was completely chocolate. He does know what I like maximum.

The knife with which I cut the cake was not new. It makes me feel special to preserve knives whenever we buy cakes for any special occasions. It acts as a physical reminder of having eaten a cake on a special day. We have Kathleen bakery nearby in supermarket, delicious cakes.

The other items were Sonpapdi from Haldiram and a mixture from a local bhunja shop.

I know that the curtains add a gorgeous touch to the background. I chose the curtains myself and got them made from a big and famous shop at Gariahat. And, there is the sweetness of home and family in these photos.

I told baba to please dress up in a good shirt or something but he said that he wanted to look like he always does at home. Yeah, authentic desi touch. But, I loved everything.

For the first time in years over a decade, I had a proper birthday. Baba helped make every moment special. Panu mama and mami also called to wish. All my friends wished me too. I made a birthday blog for Boral so I decided to wish myself too. If I can pamper my sweet brother then why should I be left behind? I even forgot to wish Rimjhim on her birthday but did wish her a few days later. I felt guilty for having not wished her. So, I decided to make a similar happy birthday blog for her as well. Hence, I asked all my friends to share some of their cutest and most memorable pics with me. I decided to also make a blog that will show only us and help preserve all our happy memories together.
