A heaven for bird lovers, there is also a safari for them and another safari for cats. You could also ride elephants here. SALUGARA MONASTERY

Buddhism originated in India and spread across the world. The Himalayas are one of the few places in India where you can still find Buddhist monasteries. In the outskirts of the busy and vibrant city of Siliguri lies a quiet and pristine village called Salugara. A Tibetan monk called Kalu Rimpoche set up this monastery which housed a 100 foot stupa highly revered by the Buddhist for it has the five relics of Buddhism. Have a quick trip around, the walls have colourful depictions of the Buddha meditating which is pleasing to the eyes and pleasing to the soul are the wooden floor polished and spread with mats for devotees to pray, all this housed at the height of the Himalayas are one of the best places to visit in Siliguri. 

CORONATION BRIDGE

20 km drive from the city and India reveals her past. In 1937 when King George VI and Elizabeth were crowned then this bridge was built to commemorate this event. The blue sparkle of the Teesta river and the magnificent Roman architecture come together to make every beholder admire. Locally called the Bagh pul, there are two tigers at one of the entrances to the bridge. These are some of the best Siliguri sightseeing places. 

KALI TEMPLE

Now that you have visited the Coronation Bridge take a short drive and visit the Kali temple. The temple is very ancient with the Hindu diety Kali to worship.
