inkscape leaves practice
Play around with the Beizer curves and nodes. You need any kind of wavy line.
Now complete the lines.
Complete the circles. Choose fill and stroke colours according to your choice.
Select the circle.
Now click on path>> object to path.
Make the leaves pointed at two ends.
Add another oval on top of the first one.
Copy and paste the two figures across the stem.
Make sure you enjoy the process. You have to play around with skewing the leaves and their sizes.
Make some flowers at the tips of the stems using circles.
And, I created some soil using the polygon tool. Then I modified it from object to path. And, played around with nodes.
This is what the final svg looks like.
Don’t go for sophistication or awesome finishing touches. Practice and play around with your tools as much as you can.
This leaf looks familiar? Drawing imperfect heart shapes is simple. Here’s how to do it.
Go to the polygon tool and draw a triangle.
Make the triangles as rounded as you want. (Look at the top of this image.)
Select the triangle>> Go to path >> Object to path
Insert a node in the middle of one side of the triangle.
Suppress this node in the middle.
Drag the two handles at the two sides and make it look more like a heart.
Once again, aim for fun, not perfection.
Copy and paste the shape to form a ring of three leaves.
Use Beizer curves to join the stem.
Draw a flower with some ovals to make it more authentic.
If you find a lot of white spaces then fill them with a couple or two of more such flowers.
The final svg rocks.
The best part of drawing florals is that imperfection is authenticity. Every beginner can try out florals as their first exercise to boost confidence with graphic design tools.
Inserting a bunch of nodes is the key to this design. Now, bend them, play around and have fun.
This exercise helps you understand what this toolbar does.
Now you have an authentic leafy feel.
Flip vertical, copy and paste this leaf many times.
Add a simple flower pot and design it the way you like.
Add some flowers which are rounded corner triangles.
Add a negative rounded value.
A minimalistic usage of flowers is the best.
The final svg rocks.
