Jain masters had already started the era of Hindi literature. But we can study it's serial and chronological development starting from the era of Raso.   Lokbhasha or folk languages and apabhramasa gained increased precedence after the tenth century in India. Even the local language of the common people came to a position of power in the literature of the royal courts. The Raso was a kind of literature. Scholars are yet to make a certain conclusion about the authorship and timeline of the Raso literature.
