How to draw a clam shell? Easy beginners level drawing with a step by step tutorial.

Clam shell marine life beautiful easy simple step by step tutorial for beginners

Want to draw something new? Love to doodle but want a new and attractive way to fill colours into your doodles? Want to draw a seashell? Why not try the most basic clam shell? So if you are a complete beginner and want to paint something that is relaxing, satisfying but not too hard to draw then get ready to shed all your exhaustion because your creative energies will now get a boost. We are going to draw a beautiful clam shell. Yes, I agree that it looks more difficult than it really is but that is why I created this tutorial to share my tips with you. Please feel free to use any colour like pink or blue of your choice instead of violet that I have used because you know there is no right and wrong colour in art. As you are the artist of your painting and not me, feel free to use any alterations you like but if you try to be too correct and too specific then this drawing will likely overburden you instead of helping you to relax. If will make a photocopy machine but not an artist. So without any further ado, lets get started.

This looks very simple a drawing but you have to be careful to make it look just symmetrical. Do not worry too much. It does not have to be exactly symmetrical because nothing in nature is perfect. Your imperfections while doing free hand will only add to the realistic touch. You need not use a tracing paper for this drawing.

Now take some violet and draw the outlines. Make sure you do not press your oil pastel too hard or it will break. While using oil pastels we give multiple layers to our artwork but we never press hard. It creates lumps that do not blend easily and ruin our other colours.

Give some more lines. Just be casual while adding these lines. There are no exact proportion. Just do a free hand and whatever you get is the correct result. You can already feel your excitement going high. If you are a beginner like me then it is true that this will turn out to be a great satisfying painting.

To the gaps fill in light violet. The shell already looks adorable.

To the inner layer add a thin layer of pink. Don't use too deep pink for this.

Now add grey rose to the inner part. Apply the colours gently and apply in two to three layers. I repeat please do not press your oil pastel or it will not blend well.

Now blend the colours.

Finally use deep violet to add outlines. You need not blend this. The dark colours signify shade and the gradual progression towards light colours signifies light and a shiny surface. Your cute and adorable clam shell is ready. Also try with more colours.
