Beautiful rose tutorial. Draw using Canva free account in five minutes. Applied color theory.

  

I have used Canva to make the design. I have a free account and so can you. Almost all graphic designers know about Canva. But, if you are new to the software then just follow the tutorial.

1. Go to Canva and choose a blank Facebook post.

2. Now go to ‘elements’ on the left side of your screen. 

3. On the search bar, write ‘graphics’. 

4. Choose this design. 

Now I wil decorate it using color theory concepts.

The rose and the green leaves have warm undertones.  

Warm colors appear closer to the observer while cool colors appear to recede away. If I keep using cooler colors in a progressive way then I should get an illusion of depth. 

I will go to the search bar and type ‘circle’. 

Click on a circle. 

It appears on the screen. Adjust its size. 

Keep copying and pasting the circles using the right mouse click. 

Now I will keep making the circles smaller as they go close to the periphery. Don’t worry about the circle colors at this stage. We will worry about that later. 

Now, I will put some triangles. Search for triangles in the search bar. 

I will use greens and magentas to create cooler shades. 

I also have to decide its hue, saturation, and brightness. I can see that the rose has a higher value. Means there is a lot of black mixed with the red. 

And, the green has a red bias. But, it is saturated. I will follow this. 

I will keep the background a cool shade of green. The color will be saturated. 

To choose the background color, click on the white space on the canvas. 

Now, I will select custom colors.

I will choose the green color that is closer to blue and far away from yellow. 

I will choose a green with a lot of black mixed in it for the background.

Now, the background look like this. 

I will make the triangles look like leaves. So, I will choose warmer green for it. I will choose a green closer to yellow than blue. 

Select any triangle by clicking on it. Then, as you changed the background color, change the colors too. 

I have chosen a green that does not have too much black mixed with it. 

I will make the circles represent flowers. I will choose a red with heavy blue bias for the outer small circles. 

I will color the inner circles with a warmer color.
